    Hi Guys,

I just put new brakes on the front of the '60 Apache including new wheel cylinders and hoses. So I spent about 2 hours trying to bleed the system and still can't get the pedal back up to where it is supposed to be (where it was before I started). I have been using the tubing in the bottle/pump the pedal method described in the shop manual. Before bleeding, I adjusted the new shoes as in the manual (tighten until it rubs then loosen 7 clicks).

What am I doing wrong? I'm wide open for advice.

    Thanks,

For what its worth, did you try to bleed the air from the whole system?
starting at the the right rear then the left rear and over to the right front and finishing up at the left front.
    just a thought,Allen

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Aug-25-03 AT 11:30 AM (CST)]Thanks for the idea, Allen. I went around the truck twice as you suggested. I keep getting very small bubbles so I think I'll try tapping the wheel cylinders and the brake lines to see if I can get them to form together into larger bubbles and move to the bleeder valves.
