I have a 1966 c10. Passenger side wiper arm won't stay put. It keeps popping off the post. I noticed that the spring tension is really tight, is that what causes it to keep jumping off the post? Any suggestions? Thanks all.

How are the grooves on the post lookin? Still Groovy ?

If the post has been subjected to someone who did not know how to properly remove the arm, the post could have been stripped off leaving little for the arm to get a grip on.

Thanks for the reply Dennis. Yeah, the grooves seem to be worn. Can that piece be replaced or do I have to get a new assembly? Maybe I can file the grooves to create more grip?. Here's a dumb question, which side is the wiper motor on?

It may be easier to hunt the bone yards or e-Bay. If you remove the grill right below the windshield you can see the entire wiper assembly, less motor. There are about a dozen or less screws holding it on. ( the wiper motor is inside the cab, about dead center right behind the ash tray)

I don't think filing grooves will help much. Since it's worn, you will need to replace it. Look for a used one out of a wrecking yard that is in better shape than yours. Should cost less than $20.
