I just purchased a 1966 GMC that has a dealer installed AC unit. It's the old type of unit that mounts under the dash. It's almost as big as a modern house window unit and takes up lots of space. I'm thinking of removing it and adding a new in the dash unit later on.

The old unit doesn't work and it is really in the way. Am I stupid for ripping it out? Is it worth anything?

It may be worth something to somebody that is building a truck, and want's to make it look all original. But if you want air that works and that can be hidden, and also has heat, a newer unit is the way to go. The newer units also use the new style compressor and doesn't rob your engine of horsepower. We carry a whole kit that sales for around a grand that has everything you need to get the job done. If you are interested give us a call 1-800-741-1678
