Has anyone tried fabricating something resembling the original under bed spare tire carrier? I have the track and am thinking the "strap" should be fairly easy to make, once I figure out how. ;)

Is the spare tire carrier different between the 50 and the 51? I have a 51 but it looks different than what you showed.

My attachment came from the 1929-1954 Chevrolet Master Parts & Accessories Catalog with no indication of a specific year. It just looks like something I could fabricate.
Thanks Ken for the picture of an actual carrier. I'm trying to figure out just how those pieces go together to secure the tire.

Thanks Ken. That is exactly what my spare tire carrier looks like. Now if I can get the bolts loose so I can get it powder coated.
