Hey guys, hopefully I could get some help here. I posted into the Parts Wanted forum and I'm looking for shift arms with a slot where it bolts up into the tranny. I think '55 or later may work. From what I know, it's a fully synchronized three on a tree trans. Any suggestions or info would be appreciated. Thanks, Robert
Hey Robert, I'll look in my happy box i have in the garage later, I may have what your looking for. The more parts that come out of that box the happier I get. Bobby
They are very easy to make but can be bought from TB Transmission. http://tbtrans.com/shifter_arms_levers_mount_htr Locally here in the DFW area Sachse Rod Shop has them.
linkage As always can find help here Nate I only know what the guy at the junkyard told me about the trans and thats not much he is now closed.if I get the numbers off the side would that I.D the year and what if might of came out of ?? my linkage is a micky mouse set up after the Brothers truck show I was putting her away and could not get her in gear so I know it slipped again. have not gone under to look yet. Thanks Bobby let me know on the shift arms. Robert
Robert, Were you ale to get it in the garage? BTW, do you still have the photos in the camera and if so can you have the son post them up?
Tranny ID Yes . some of the guys here will know how to decode the GM part # casted into the side . FWIW , almost every time I make it to The Long Beach Swap Meet , I see a greasy , rusty old AD Saginaw side loader tranny for $35 , maybe you could find what you need there ? . Or the place Even suggested , if they have it new I'd say go there first .
linkage Charles pics still in camera. Nate I have seen them at the swap meet at pomona not for $35.00 guess not looking hard enough. had to push her the rest of the way in the garage Charles. now coverd up until I have a chance to jack it up and look under but I know its my micky mouse shift arms. HAVE A GREAT DAY OFF TO THE O.C FAIR. Robert
Different Swaps Po-Mona is a kinda strange place , you have to really beat the bushes to find the cheap stuff . Or , do like I do and hang a cardboard sign on your back saying what you're looking for , you'll be amazed at how many people come running up trying to sell you old cars , trucks and parts ! . Long Beach is a far cry from The Pomona Swap Meet in every way , that's why I didn't suggest going to Pomona . How was the O.C. Fair ? I liked the adverts extolling the food ! .
Robert, Sorry to hear the truck had to be strongarmed into the garage. Can you get the photos loaded onto the computor without freezing up the computor?
