I have seen an uncounted number of AD's with shine and glitz sell for way too much money but have run into the opposite situation with a 54 three window a customer wants us to sell and keep the money towards the work on his 52 Suburban. It seems great brakes, true driving, straight rust free panels, and some of the best coachwork I've seen on an AD doesn't mean squat without that shine. The last potential buyer was in it, under it, around it and took a 10 mile test drive and was still thought something HAD to be wrong for the $4500 asking price. When he asked my opinion I told him it wasn't from Cuba so it couldn't swim to Hawaii but if he would pay my return fare and lived anywhere in the U.S. or Canada I'd ride home with him and if it gave any trouble I'd give his $4500 back AND let him keep the truck. When he hemmed and hawed around some more I just bought it for myself; too good a truck for a moron to own.
Tough Times Yep ; Sometimes folks are *so* stupid , they'll pass up a good thing because "it can't be any good unless it's expen$ive ! " . (dipwads) I'm still trying to sell my '49 and it's a good one , so far no one wants to give me $6,000 for a truck I have well over $10,00 into .... Maybe I can put it on E-Bay Germany... They seem to buy lots of total crap for $10,000 + , this is a good one , ready to work or restore .
