I been very pleased with our host here even when they were Chevy Duty, however I wanted and order the big transmission (hump in the floor) rubber mat, I think I have a wet suit that’s thicker material. Are the originals mats any thicker?
Rubber Floor Mats Yes they were , better quality rubber too . Maybe Steele Rubber Co. will have what you need ? . Be aware that rubber mats always cause rusting ! .
Rust Thanks Nate, As for the rust my 59 has been in the garage for 20 years protected from the weather, once the new automatic trans was installed six months ago took it out and wouldn’t you know it if busted out and poured (rain). I used my new electrical wipers and funny to experience the little eight inch wiper do their stuff meeting in the center. The experiance driving in the rain was cool.
Rust & Garages It's not clear that you understand ~ even in a dry & warm garage , rubber floor mats will force the floor to rust out . Period , no exceptions , ever .
I want a rubber mat Nate, Thanks, I guess the heat is trapped under the rubber mat creating moisture, I want a rubber mat. I can’t do carpet in my cab. I mind a well hand a curtain in the back window. (that's a joke sorry)
Steve, I got your joke, since when I was in high school, trying to be a kicker, I had a curtain in my back window. It was very cool for the time
Nate, Is there something other than carpet that you would recommend in the floors of our trucks? Cause I have rubber and dynamat in my garage kept truck and I don't want wood "floorboards" except in the bed. ======================================================
Maybe if we did not run our A/C so darn cold on these record breaking heat wave days, there would be less condensation and moisture in the cab?
Rusty Floors What I did , back when I still insisted on easy to clean & sharp looking rubber floor mats , was prop it up with a few inverted Dixe Cups every time I washed it or it rained . Over time , the paint blistered up off the floor so I gave up and now have carpet even though I don't like it .
I use a tredmill rubbermat that they use in the gym That's the strongest I have ever had just cut to fit and has a good antislip profil
Just A Thought Guys,Would POR15 Be a better answer Than Just Paint On the Floor Board to Help In the Rusting out Of our Floor Boards? I Know Guys Swear by the Stuff! Just a Thought,in would it provide a little bit More Protection,I Don't Think it Would be 100% in Stopping rust but think it would provide a Little Better than just a standard Paint applied to the Floor Boards Again FWIW,Allen
I've got por15,dynomat and rubber replacement floor mat on one side and por 15 and spray on undercoating on the under side, but I still take mine out when cleaning just to let the metal air our. I don't have mine screwed under the floor seals so I can get to my battery and brake cylinder , also makes it easy to air out. A nice kleen black rubber floor shure looks good plus it gets a nice (in your face sweeping) when u open the cowl vent HAGD!
