I was looking at some different intakes for my 454 that i could put on it. and i really like the look of tri power but all the used ones i see on ebay are way out of my price range. I've looked at dual quads, webers, and just the single quad intakes. what would you guys use? the truck is a 1961 1/2 ton shortbed stepside and its is going to be more of a hot rod than a stocker. For simplicity and reliabilty you can't beat edelbrock carbs. I had a holley with vacuum secondaries and it was no fun to tune or work on. One good backfire when timing your engine and the thing could be blown (chintz power valve). The edelbrock carburetor is just sooooo much easier! I know its kind of ho-hum, but usually I'd rather be sane than cool.
thanks for you opinion but i like holleys(mechanical secondaries). the last edelbrock wasn't impressingme much. but Tri power could be reliable once all the kinks are worked out. Cowboy
