My son gave me a nice XMAS present last night. He rolled my passenger side window down forcing the crank past the stop point. Now the window is stuck down. Crank seems to be sprung. won't rotate up at all. Window is on the track, but completely jammed. Can anyone tell me, is this fixable or once this happens do I just order a new window regulator? Merry Christmas to all.

Don't be too hard on him, it was probably the first time he saw a window crank !!

Before you go ordering parts, pull the door panel off for a look-see.
If you get lucky, the bottom window channel, ( the one that holds the window in place on the regulator) may be below the stop located on the bottom of the interior panel, just below the door panel opening.
If it is below the stop, try gently pulling the bottom of the panel out while you get your son to crank the window up. On second thought, maybe you should find someone else to crank the window up ! ;)

Dennis, I was lucky with the window crank, don't know if I did exactly what you said but after a couple of hours of playing around with it it came free. thanks for your help. NOW THE NEW PROBLEM is with the driver side door latch, it won't latch! the tumbler (which should spin freely when the outside door button is held in) jams when I try to close the door. I can free it up again but can't figure out what the problem is. The door is square and not sagging at all. Is it the tumbler or the latch itself? Is it not lined up with the catch properly? This is something that needs fixing right away and Idon't know anyone who knows thier way around this stuff. Any suggestions? Regards, Michael

"Is it not lined up with the catch properly?"

    That's what it sounds like.

If the latch isn't aligned correctly the door will act the way you describe. Will it do it from both inside and outside ? Or just outside? If it does it mainly on entry its most likely the latch alignment. The procedure to get the doors right is difficult to describe on a forum like this.

The Factory Service manual has a great alignment procedure documented. If you plan on keeping the truck I'd recommend that you pick it up from our hosts here. You will need the 63 manual and the 66 Suppliment.

Dennis, Thanks for the advice re the driver door that won't latch. It won't latch on entry or exit. The cylinder should rotate each time the outside button is depressed and released Yes? Thgis one does not move . Is there something that connects the latch to the outside button that I should look for? Thanks, Michael
