The floors in the cab are pretty bad, especially the pass side and trans cover. I bought some 18ga metal to make to panels and most of the rust is on the lower portion of the fire wall and floor. Question is should I patch the upper and lower portions in two pieces or just make it one and not try to seam it. I plan on a firewall mounted mcyl and hanging the pedals not going through the floor.
Other question is if I wanted to channel the cab about 3" down over the frame anyone know what problems what would cause? Do I have the room under the hood to clear the motor and radiator. Anyone here done this? Or is this a bad idea and opening a BIG ol can a worms??:D

The frame is already way up under the cab. The running boads are the lowest point short of the running gear.It can be channeled, but you open up another can of worms.

You can do the floors in one or two pieces, depending on your metal shaping abilities. I like the 2 piece with a flange spot welded like the origional, it seems to make the floor stronger. I have installed a one piece toeboard and floor pan before, it seemed a little flimsier. You will probably need to do the kick panels, front cab corners and "c" channel while you are at it.....they are allways rusty.

I just replaced my first kick panel Monday night, not as bad to do as I thought it might be. On the panels I'm thinking of using body panel adhesive since welding isn't one of my strong suits and my little mig is flux only. The corners have been replaced, not sure what you mean by the c-channel have to look that one up; sounds familiar but can't place which part it is. thanks

The C channel is the inner to outer piece that connects the kick panel to the outer cowl where the fender bolts on. Flux core mig is fine for attatchung body panels......that is all I use. Drill some holes along the panel joints in the oter skin, then clamp in place and fill in the holes to join the panels....sorta like the factory spot welds.
