I doesn't have anything to do with trucks and some of you may have already seen this, but the historians in the group may enjoy: http://www.dump.com/2011/07/15/fascinating-1936-footage-of-car-assembly-line-video/ I got a kick out of the fact that the last shown guy on the assembly line was carrying a hammer.
Thanks or sharing Bill. Incredibly little welding and awesome hydraulics. It looked like a lot of the assembly was assisted with a BFH. No hard hats, no eye protection, not many wore gloves and talk about repetitive muscle strain...no chance of putting all those workers on the assembly line in today's world.
Re: Wow this vid nearly brought tears to my eyes. The size of those stamping machines is incredible. How many workers on the assembly line now, about 1/10 of what it was back in 36?
Carpal Tunnel, Carpal Tunnel!!! Great video! Could you imagine that same motion some of those guys were doing all day long for weeks/years on end? Made me want a beer, and it's only 6 AM! That's a look back at what made America strong. Hard work and things built right!
Beer : It's not just for Breakfast anymore ! . BTW : what is Zig's job anywho ? (because suspicious minds want to know !) .
Nice Video ! That's an old Movie Theatre Trailer , GM did them well into the 1970's , I remember watching Monte Carlo build sales videos when I was dating my ex wife.... Too bad he cropped it , prolly ran 15 minutes in all .
