235 fan question?

I'm converting my '53 3100 truck from a 216 engine to a later 50's 235 engine.

Will I need to use the short necked water pump? If so, what should I do about a fan? I went by Chevy Truck parts in Riverside today and was told that the fan that they sell (and my original 216 fan) won't line up with the mounting holes on the short necked water mounting flange.

I'm not the first guy to convert from a 216 to a 235. What should I use for a fan?

Find a 235 fan.

 

You will need to use the short shaft water pump kit .
Any 1955-1962 235 fan blade will work.
We have the pumps & blades.
