I am in the process of restoring my '53 3100 truck. This weekend, I was able to finish the body lift. Here's a couple photos of the chassis. I'm pleased with the condition of the frame. All that front end grease and oil helped preserve the chassis. My son Sam is getting his first experience with all the fun of getting dirty and greasy. Tony
Amazing , Isn't It ? How well GM made it's " cheap trucks " . Other than crashing them or rust , not much can bring them to a halt . Why I love them so much and do not find it necessary to buy a new one . 50 years hard service out of any cheap tool , is very good Dollar Value .
I'm having flashbacks to when my truck was at this stage.... I truly have had a lot of fun with my project so far, and I'm sure You and your Son will as well.
Omg Yes, I remember starting the truck project with my kids when they were much younger. Now, two of them actually drive it. What fun they had building it. Now, we are on to our next project. Andy
Kids ! Yep ; My 32 Y.O. son has been riding in my various old trucks (mostly CHEVROLET) since he was born , finally I have one he really likes . Your Children can learn many very important life lessons from watchng you and hopefully helping you , work on your old truck . Keep up the good work folks ! .
