So I've decided to take the plunge and paint my truck myself. Looking at compressors and need to know what size to look for. Found a decent 23 gallon on Craigslist for a good price. Will this do?

It should. Get a good water seperator and a pressure regulator.

    If I can do it...

Get a really good mask. Something for eye protection as well. I like having mine apart so I can paint one piece at a time. (That way the rust can't hide from you...) Good luck, Robert!

    mobileortho,

    That is a good size.
Try to get a oil splash pump motor.
It will last you better in the longrun and not be so LOUD.
Any "oil free" motors just will not last under that type of use like air sanders and grinders. The paint gun might,
but you need a constant pressure.
Even after the paint job is over you will still have a good compressor.

    Good Luck, and dive in.
