Does anybody know what engine this is? The casting number is 3921968. The number next to the distributor is F1127TA. Now is the hard part. Will it fit into a 51 using my old 4 speed trans.? How much trouble will it be? I have searched hells half acre and most of Texas for a simple swap like a 235 but can't find one. Who is hiding all of them? thanks Rick
Rick, the casting number corresponds to 230-250 c.i. inline 6 cyl engines built between 64-76. The serial number shows that it was built in Flint, Mi "F" on Nov. 27th "1127" and "TA" is the designation type code for 250 c.i. engines used on C10, C20, K10, and K20 chevy trucks with manual transmissions in '67. Depends on what mounts are already there.....This is probably the most common swap on these trucks through the years, most I have come across that have been changed (including mine) have a 250 in them.....they were and still are cheap and plentiful.
