Well I'm about to start the exhaust on my 65 4X4. The engine (1969 Chevelle 396)has been moved forward about two inches. I have headers on it now but I don't remember the maker.I do know they were from a 69 Chevelle. Any ideas if 2 inch primary Hookers will fit? the ones on there now are 1 3/4. its not just the idea that they are bigger around but that the bends might not clear the frame.
2 Inch Hookers Well didn't get much (any) help here this time. So I spent the money and gave it a try. If someone needs to know 2 inch full length Hookers for 69 Chevelle went on with just a little tweaking around the leaf spring hanger. I have 76 Dana 44 front end under mine. So I'm thinking you won't have any trouble with 2 wheel drive or at least very little.
Wow, that is one BEAUTIFUL truck I like the factory stripe on the side without the trim, you plan on leaving it like that?
Sorry have`nt been here in a while Twister, Hookers are just about the only BB header that will fit as you have found out, nice looking truck you have.
chrome Lakeroadster, I am playing with a 65 GMC and plan on using your paint idea. Thanks for all those posts. I need too get some new pics posted. Here are some not very good ones. I think you can see I put new chrome back on. Thanks for the comments Guys. Honored coming from you two.
Die Grinder Well, Got the left side on today. There might be a different engine mount to use but the one I have on my 402 BB Needed some grinding. I took out most of the upper rear corner of it. Shop Shot. Disregard the Ford on the lift. Its a nasty ol' 302 Boss of a friend of mines.
Thas common to have grind the motor mount or the other style of hedder don`t remember brand they have to notch frame, you can change out the motor mounts to the tubular style for the 67-79 big block. there`s no notching needed.
Very Nice, Not sure if it will work for me. I already have moved the motor forward. Little afraid to move it any more. This bracket will move the motor slightly forward so as to except an Electronic Ignition. This should be a very helpful thread. Thanks to all for the input.
