It's in a 1956 Canadian Pontiac 4Dr. Sedan in Pick-A-Part , manual 3 On - The - Tree tranny . This is a by - pass oil filter engine . It's complete but for the water pump , rocker box & carby , has 12 volt starter & flywheel . Pick-Your-Part 1903 Blinn Av. (E. of PCH) Wilmington , Ca. 90744 . I was in there to day chasing parts for my '69 C/10 and scored a whole pile of good stuff for under $100 , the 5th , matching stamp code wheel I needed plus a complete electronic ignition , dizzy , wires, clamps, hardware , even the unbotanium coil cover , a Turbo Hydro scatter pan of steel , the center factory seat belt I've been wanting , about 2 # of correct hardware for various things , seat adjuster parts , an owner's manual in O.K. shape..... I hope someone goes and gets that 261 , they're hard to find cheaply and this one is in the original fittment Passenger Car so it's prolly never been thrashed...... Finding one of these 56 year old Canadian Pontiacs anywhere , much less in So. Cal. is a once in a lifetime event.... were I not barely able to work now , I'd grab it for re sale after an overhaul .
Huh So , lotsa folks looking but no one cares , is that it ? . I'm amazed . Were I not getting rid of my '49 , it'd be out and in my back yard already . If I wasn't so buried in backlogged works , I'd buy and overhaul it as I'm sure it'd be easy to sell . The first Canadian Pontiac I've seen in 25 years and no one wants it . go figure
Yeah...I'd love it if it were not soooooooo far out there in Cali... Well, that and the fact that my 235 only has around 2000 miles on a rebuild.
