I ordered new wiper arms hoping that they will be grooved where the arm attaches to the grooved wiper transmission post. The arms I have now have no grooves left and do not fit securely on the posts. The wiper transmission posts are also worn a bit. Can the grooved knob at the end of the transmission post be replaced? or do I need to get a new wiper transmission assembly? I don't see this item listed in the catalog. Can anyone hepl me out with this? Regards, Michael
Hi- This is probably the Rube Goldberg approach, but if you can't find a new arm that fits snugly enough, and the current wiper motor/transmission is operating satisfactorily, you might consider drilling a small hole in the new wiper arms where they slide over the post, and using a self-tapping set screw to make them behave. Just a thought (and a cheap one at that!):7
