Who can I trust to rebuild my 216 engine?
There are some online sources but they want money up front, can I trust them?
Am I better better off replacing the 216 with a 235?
    Any ideas or referrals?

I have a great running (when I pulled it out) 216 that came out of the 53 I restored, sitting in my garage. Where are you located? You can have it.

Rebuilding the 216 CI engine ?

In what condition is your engine now and do you need to rebuild the total engine or parts of it (more spesific) ? It would help to post some pictures of your engine!
If you want to keep your 216 engine i `LL recommend you should use a local engine remaufacturing workshop. Make some phonecalls and ask what price they ask ? Using locall shops gives the possebillety to make a good deal with and you can look how things are been done wich makes it more intresting. :)
To be honnest ,yes you are better of with a 235 or 261 , cost to remanufacture the total engine is the same allmost. If your lucky they are out there for low bucks. Try the "selling parts" posts at this forum and place an anouncement there and look at the later trucks 55... aswell. There might be someone nearby your location , you could look at Graigslist but remember dont pay anything before you have examened your potensial object ! EBAY has 235 engines for sale quite often.

    Good luck Martinius.
