I am looking to see what info is out there about possible bucket seats for my truck. I know I can make something fit but with the wealth of knowledge on this forum I thought it would help start my search. My biggest issue is I am 6' 6" and about 240 or so. My wife says or so is closer. I would like some buckets or a 60/40 split seat. Any ideas or comments would be greatly appreciated. I'm also thinking about taking my vent window out and putting in a glass without the vent. Found this at nolimit.net . Are there any other options besides this?
Given your height my suggestion would be a 60/40 seat as they tend to be a little thinner in the back rest to give you more leg room or use the seats that Lakeroaster had put into his rig, any of the GM buckets will not give you enough leg room.
Check out Post #15 of my build thread in regards to the seats I used: https://talk.classicparts.com/showthread.php?t=13928 Another thing I have found that gives a fella a bit more room is a steering wheel with less dish. Check out post #26: https://talk.classicparts.com/showthread.php?t=13928&page=2 When I first bought my truck it had a 60/40 split bench with the fold down arm rest. That seat was out of a 90's Chevy & had the thin back that Rich eluded to above. Hope that helps! John
Thanks guys. I will look further and hope to maybe go to some car shows so I can get some good looks and possibly sit in some trucks. It looks like I might be getting to go to some local junk yards in my near future. Life is good.
