    Thanks for the detail and pics as I am about to tackle my bed. I am having trouble getting the side rail bolts out but patience will persevere.

    I saved the entire thread to my computer!

    Hey, for anyone who may not have internet access everywhere, as in when I go down to work on my truck, I Highlighted the entire thread and 'Save as' a document on my hard drive. Now I can look up anything I need without the need for internet access. I can print a couple of pages for detailed instructions, etc. I'd still buy a copy of the book when it comes out, though.

    I even find myself referring to this thread to refresh my memory on what I did and how. I hope everyone else finds it just as useful.

    Zig, just for you, I have a GMC ratrod coming to the shop tomorow.

    They should be imbedded on the pages. Maybe your computer doesn't allow them?

    Take your time, pay attention and don't try to short cut....it always gets you in the long run.

    I am having the same issue with my throttle linkage because of the boss being further back on the block. Any estimate as to how many inches you had to take out of the linkage? Thanks

    I do not recall how much it was shortened. Position the carb linkage and bell crank, then make the pedal linkage fit.
