'69 C/10 Turbo Hydro Tranny Pan

    it's the back two bolts ~ they're impossible to reach with a socket , I had to undo the rear tranny mount & jack up the tranny 3" to gain access ~ this can't be right ! I don't remember ever having this problem in the dealer , is it maybe the wrong cross member ? .Thoughts please .

    Not sure...

    My 71 was a 3 speed... My 04 blazer with 4l60e requires moving the crossmember to get to a couple pan bolts. Same with a 95 vandura.

    I've not serviced one of these since the 1970's so I didn't recall having this much ' fun ' on a simple tranny service.....

    Glad I persevered though as I found lots of crud in the pan , it still shifts fine but I'm planning on a rebuilt before too long .
