I still have the radio hole to do away with. @$100.00 for the gun and panel adhesive that I'll need. Still better than the price of a welder, and apparently you can use some and cap the rest until needed?

Eaton 2" lowered springs and pretty red shocks.

This will be a nice Chiefs truck... ...someday...

No rain and low humidity! Painting frame and taking my daughter fishing it is! :D

I was under the impression that you had not started cleaning the frame yet....

Didn't realise you had the factory radio delete plate. Thought there was a butchered hole for a modern radio. It sure looks nice just the way it is. Do you want to make a new surface to mount something in? It's kind of a shame to tear up something that's has a final finish.

I did the easy part first!

Now is time for the underside of the frame. That's why I loved Bill's idea of flipping the truck over! :D

Let me see if I can cover these in order~

    1. The Chiefs are like my truck. They look good, but go nowhere. If my truck moves under it's own power by December, the Chiefs will be in the Super Bowl!
    2. Big Brother, it's not desire that has me still flailing away~ it's all about making ends meet. That's why I'm working on the frame and not installing a Colorado rear and disk brakes... Someday~
    3. That's not a carb wrench, that is in case I find the cat who keeps peeing all over my truck! (just kidding!)
    4. I have an idea about making a cool radio mount under the edge of the dash that has the same lines as that part. I don't mind redoing the dash to get it smooth. That was my goal back when I painted it the first time. I knew I'd be a while getting there, so I painted it to remind me how it was supposed to look once the radio blank was gone.
(I have some ideas about tunes and speakers as well. Can't wait!)
Thanks to you guys and your help, I will have a nice truck someday! ;)

Have you thought about a repop radio? They have RCA jacks on them so you can plug in a MP3 player and have large selection of music taking no more room away.

I just don't like the looks of all that sticking out of the dash... Believe me, I've thought about it, however.

Thanks, Robert! I am looking forward to doing the panels for the door after watching that video you posted. The headliner options are still cloudy.

One more option....have you seen the video of where someone made the speaker grill hinge down and mounted the radio behind it ? He uses magnets to keep the grille shut.

Thanks guys~ I actually got some of the back frame 3m wheeled down to metal and primed, so that is encouraging. I plan to stop by the new fastenall store that I didn't know we had until I Googled it so I can get those bolts I need. All in all, things are looking up. I just pray this summer isn't like last summer! That was just to danged HOT to do much of anything!

    One problem...

This keeps me from "gettin' her done"~ :p
My daughter's first time out in "the boat". She caught two, I caught none.
I did get about half of the back frame down to metal minus the rust, so next weekend I should be able to get the other half and get it primed and painted. (Three day weekend! Yeah!!!)

BTW, the last picture is my 89 year old papa with his first fish of the season! ;^)
