has anyone else had a problem with new turn signal switches? i followed the instructions as far as the wiring diagram. i now have a working brake lite but of the two wires that come off of the flasher unit, one will provide power to the signal switch (it will lite up) but no signal lite comes on. the other wire that comes off the flasher unit doesn't seem to do anything. my flasher unit appears to be screwed so i am putting the power wire directly to the two wires (one at a time and together) that should normally come off the flasher unit. help!
6 volt or 12 volts electric system ? Hey, there Check out if your device is damaged (compare with the old one). Check out if the trucks signal and flash lamps are ok ? What about the wiring sirquit is it new or old and how is its condition in general? Your light units are they ok ( water or corrosion) then clean this using isapropanol spray? Did you checked if the turn signal wire to ground is connected properly ? Some trucks have neg. to ground others have pos. ground! If having a 12 volts normally neg. is going to ground. It seams to me some how that these wires are not connected in the right way as one function cuts another one. I `ll recommend using a electric checkup screwdriver wich alows you to eliminate what so ever is wrong. Se if there is any voltage power on the right colored wires and no power to neg. ground?
this is too funny i started to check things out and as my old one ton has only ONE tail light.... man, sometimes i surprise myself at how i can make an easy fix seem so complicated.
