I'm servicing the front brakes on a 1985 Chevrolet K30 pickup with Bendix front calipers, JB8 brake option. The calipers are retained by the spring and support key that are tapped in.

When I installed the LH caliper and hardware, the support key and spring could be pushed in by hand. The caliper bracket shows no evidence of excessive wear. The caliper is a recent replacement. I have not yet tried another caliper yet. I'm not yet at the point where I feel it is necessary to replace the caliper or bracket.

Somewhere I had encountered a service proceedure to measure the gap between the support key and the caliper. The result of that measurement led to selection of the proper support key and that the support keys were available in varying thicknesses to optimize that gap. Now that I need it, I can lo longer find this information.

Where can I view or find this proceedure? Where can I purchase the support keys in vaying thicknesses?
