47 Carter Carb specs needed

    I gues 1st, could some one tell me what I need off of my carb to know what model it is? I do have a brass tag with some numbers on it. Thanks

    The brass tag has everything you need. Take it to a parts store and they can tell you what the carb is as this is what they use to look up a rebuild kit.

    My 2nd question, is there some way I can find out the correct lenght of the accelerator pump. I've purchased 1 carb kit a few years ago from Chevy Duty and always had the engine gasp whenever I pumped the foot feed, I needed to have the choke on most of the time. Last year I purchased another kit from Classic Parts, still have the same problem and noticed the last accelerator pump was shorter thant the 1st one. I didn't keep the original (or the one I took out a few years ago). Anyway the accelerator pump does not go to the bottom of the carb.
