I have learned (the hard way) that the early-type distibutors used in the 305E engines don't accept the Pertronix ignition (not without mods), but the later type do. The later ones are apparently identifiable by the lack of a small acccess window in the cap which allows dwell adjustment. Does anyone have one of the late-type distributors for sale? I know anything can be made to fit anything, but I'd rather find a bolt-on conversion than tinker up my own.
