Need help with offenhauser linkage setup

    I just put a new offenhauser dual carb manifold on my 235 with dual fenton headers. It looks great with a polished maniflod. I would love to show you guys, because it looks great. Not sure how to upload pictures here. Anyway I am having a problem getting the linkage to work. I bought the offenhauser linkage from my local truck shop and am having problems getting it to work. Does anyone have pictures of a linkage setup that works with my application here? I would love to see what you did to get this to work. In the mean time I will try to figure out how to upload pictures. Thanks guys....

    Whoops, looks like you figured it out already... good deal.

    Sharp looking engine you have there. I'd love to help on the linkage question, but I've yet to get that far with my own engine. I'm certain the good folks here will be able to help you.

    Thanks Zig and Damon.... I am happy with how it came out. I wanted to try and do something a little different with it. I have been to a few car shows in my area latley trying to find a straight six with dual carbs to take some pictures of to figure out the linkage. It is hard to even find a straight six in a car or truck any more......

    Huh ~

    That's odd ~ every time I look under the hood of my truck , it's always got an L6 engine in it ~ I've only ever owned one V-ate truck I can remember off hand .
    Anyways , your engine looks terrific ! .

    To properly adjust the dual carbys , disconnect the linkage and attach a weak return spring to each carby , start the engine and warm it up (you did remember to open the spark plugs up to .040" & set the timing dead bang ball on pointer , right ?) .

    Adjust the two carbys until the engine idles smoothly at no more than 700 RPM's

    Shut it down and attach the into carby linkage then prop the carbys full open , put a brick or whatnot on the throttle to hold it to the floor and attach/adjust the vertical linkage rod .

    This gives you full throttle operation .

    I prefer to run a separate return spring on each carby , I feel this works better and compensates for loose / worn / cobbled up linkages .
