I have a 53 Chevy truck I am trying to restore and have hit a wall. The carb that came in with the truck was not complete. The previous owner had disassembled it to rebuild it and lost the parts. The carb is a Carter W-1 569s. I have been looking for a replacement W-1 569s or a Carter YF 2001s and have had no luck. I have bought two from Ebay that needed rebuilt and when they arrived they were not the same model they were claimed to be. Is there anyplace to find a rebuilt carb? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Lonnie
First welcome aboard Lonnie and enjoy the ride while here. Got photo?, have you asked the guys at Napa Auto parts about having it rebuilt. You can also go to Chevy of the 40's and see what they have and ask our host what they have or give Joe a shout out (DeadZoneTrucking) or http://www.truckandcarshop.com/4759.html, http://www.scribd.com/full/75817434?access_key=key-1ck1h3ekaw0jyon6pa1h , page 86.
W-1 Carby Lonnie ; You may be in luck , I have a Carter W-1 just sitting around in it's crumbling 45 year old Delco box , how about some pictures of both your carby and what you need ? .
