[updated:LAST EDITED ON Aug-20-04 AT 00:18 AM (CST)]Here goes! I'm not a mechanic, so, bear with me here! I wanted to check out the 4 wheel drive out, after a friend helped repair the t-case, I locked the front hubs in & put her in gear, (on a dirt lot), the 4wd worked fine & I put it back into 2wd. Now there a "shimmy" after getting her in gear & accelerating. I thought it felt like it did, when the pinion bearings started going in the rear differential a couple of years ago. I think there's a bit of play at the u-joints on the rear driveshaft & replace 'em. The shimmy is still there, a little worse now, so I replace the u-joints on the shaft between the tranny & t-case, the shimmy turns to grinding vibration, then BAM, the last u-joint at the rear driveshaft snaps in two. I take the rear shaft out, lock in the hubs, & backed back into the parking spot with front wheel drive (4wd). I think it's time to replace the t-case, but, don't know what to look for as far as name & numbers, you know, like a "Muncie M21" ect... It's a divorced t-case, that was rebuilt in '99, but the mechanic used so much gasket goo putting it back together, that the oil ports got plugged & eventually caused some damage inside. It was "fixed" a few months ago untill I tested the 4wd the other day. Anyway, sorry for the long post! Any thoughts are apprieciated! Thanks in advance............Scott
