they sure do make a nice couple

These vintage trailers - "canned hams", have been growing in demand more and more these past few years. Anyone that has been wanting one and knows where one is, you'd better try and get it now while you can. Seems to be more of them in the West, Northwest, and up state of Michigan and New York.

Ron - you have a nice camper there - i have admired it before on here.

Rod - congratulations on your new find at the auction - that is a nice little camper for sure. The original paint markings and the hump trunk make it unusual for sure. I could not find any pictures posted of your truck though.

I recently was lucky enough (long story) to find this one below. One of those "right place at the right time", right price, size, age, etc. It is a 1963 Fan, 13' long including the tongue. I only had time this visit to tow it a few miles home with my '53, but I could not tell it was there at all. Of course it was not loaded with gear, but i am sure a few hundred pounds will not make ANY difference. My truck is nearly all original to my knowledge - a 228 with the 3 speed. I did have a serious frame hitch/receiver installed so I could pull anything I finally decided on to use for camping. Camper does not appear to have been painted, so I may end up polishing up the aluminum or may go for a partial paint job on the bottom - just will have to wait and see. I will make it more functional and safe before any aesthetics are addressed. It will be awhile before i can enjoy the two of them together, but someday.....until then, I hope you guys do enjoy your camping trips in your fine trailers.

Anyone else out there, please post your truck with your camper. We'd love to see them.
