Read in one of my manuals that if you use a remote start swich, you need to remove "X" wire from the coil. Said it would damage something if you did not do this. The truck is a '66 C-20, 6 cyl,. 4 speed. I CAN NOT for the love of pete find that sentence again. Anyone with some help. I used a remote start on the truck and did not remove this wire  and now the battery will not stay charged. Appreciate any help here. Thanks in advance guys!!!

Probably what they were referring to is on cars/trucks with a bypass wire from the starter solenoid to the + side of the coil which when using a remote can let the engine fire for just an instant even with the key off. Something you don't want when adjusting valves or bringing the points to an open position. Taking the wire(s) off the + side of the coil prevents this although most old timers just yanked the coil wire. Has NOTHING to do with the charging system so I think the old "coincidence" bug bit you.
