Control arm bushing replacement

    Do I have to detach and remove the control arm from the u-bolt end also to replace the bushings? Will I have to have the new bushings pressed in? Right now I have the rear end up, with the shocks and coils off for replacement. I was hoping just removing the forward bolt and could get enough space to get the bushings in and out>

    See my post to the question in your other thread.

    You should be able to get the new bushings on by yourself. The old ones can be torched out if they give you trouble. CAUTION ! Do not use the flame wrench on the old bushings in the garage ! Too much smoke !!
    If you got poly replacement bushings you will need the center section of the old bushings. With a liberal coat of white lithium grease on the new bushings they should go in with little fanfare...
