Hello, I recently purchased a '58 Apache (3200) and I'm having trouble removing the grill so I can replace it w/a chrome one. I see the square head nuts on the bolt and I've sprayed penetrating on them (rusty) but I'm scare I'll break them off if I turn them too hard...any suggestions?
Try turning the bolt on the very back of the front Valance just a little at a time and then tighten it back up,working the bolt back and forth to see if you can work them loose Ive had them brake and then you have to drill and tap them out! If the square head thats welded in place on the grill's bracket breaks off then you have to cut it off some how Did your new chrome grill come with the mounting Brackets? as I had to drill the mounting bracket rivets off and mount them on to the new Chrome Grill. Dont use any air tools on the four bolts,Just turn them by hand and try to work the rust out, turning them back and forth. Good Luck! and let us know how it works out! Allen
