So far I have rechecked all wiring, replaced all bulbs and headlight switch. Everything works except dash lights? Any ideas as do what could be the problem would be very appreciated!
Just to confirm that you know they are on a resistor, turn the knob to the left I believe will turm thier brightness up, if not that then we have a broken wire or bad ground someplace. This may help a little, nothe there are differances between 60 -63 and 64 to 66 both are listed here http://www.6066gmcguy.org/parklamp6466.htm
I'd bypass the switch with a 12v jumper to the instrument light terminal or even use a probe into any one of the light wires (they're all hooked together) and this should light them to full brightness. If not, there is a ground problem and it's not in the switch. If they do light then it's in the switch or wire loom. Good luck.
can you say...dumbass? upon further review some goofnut forgot to plug in the harness that goes to the cluster when he installed it! So problem solved...thanks for everyone's input!
A Gaggle 'oh Goofnuts My truck seemed to have a "gaggle 'oh Goofnuts" workin' on it over the years. I have come to the conclusion that's normal if the truck has had more than 1 or 2 owners.
