wheel size difference

    i have 83 chevy dually it has 235/85r16 wheels on it i am buying used wheels to replace bent ones but they are 16.5's he has 4 of them will they work on the back 4 with no problem? if the front 2 stay at 16"?

    Yes, they will work, but the price you pay for 16.5" rubber will make the cost of four new 16" steel rims a real bargain, real fast. IMHO, you should do some serious research on tire pricing before you go with the 16.5" 's.

    stay away from the 16.5s, you'll never find good rubber for them at a reasonable price. I work at firestone in MT and we dont even have a tire that size.Karl

    I have a set of 16.5's that were on my 66, I couldn't find tires for them. I switched to 16's. I got the complete set of 6 wheels for $125. You can find them if you look hard enough.
