OOPS for the three speed transmisions with the overdrive I have seen a few pics but they were on v8 engines. again thanks Robert
The original ones were under the accelerator pedal which is fine to install if your not old and stiff jointed. Any normally open switch with a threaded two nut mounting set up will work. This lets you adjust it up and down till you have to be squashing down the floor mat to activate it otherwise it will be kicking into underdrive too easily. I usually make a bracket somewhere near the linkage to hold the switch and a tab on the linkage to activate it. There are just two wires: one to the negative side of the coil and the other to a ground so a push button switch mounted anywhere can be used. Just have to use a finger instead of a foot to work it. I put one on a 55 second series with a 235 but no pictures. I do remember it wasn't much of a task. Use an all weather tractor or boat switch. Here's a park only start safety switch that is on the same principle---an adjustable bracket, tab on the linkage, and a push button switch.
On the 6 cyl kick down It is located on the rod, between the bellcrank and the carb. The switch is mounted to the engine with a bracket, and the rod has a tab to contact the switch. You can always kick it down by turning your ignition switch off and on. Just enough to interrupt the power to the relay. Chris Did you find a yolk for your trans yet?
yep found the yoke local old school junk yard I knew this guy would have it was just a matter of finding his phone number. when i called him up he asked how many do i want. the bracket that i'am trying to make is off the carb than the easy part install the transmission. Robert
