    C-15

    ( Copied from Edmunds.com )

The two-wheel-drive versions had the "C" prefix and came in the half-ton C10 and C15 (long bed), the three-quarter-ton C20 and the one-ton C30. Four-wheel-drive models had a "K" prefix and were called K10, K15 and K20. There was no four-wheel-drive version of the one-ton pickup and hence no K30.

    Huh?
Is this the same for '66?
My Fleetside longbed has C-10 badging, but you can see where someone changed locations on the fender extensions (cowl extensions?)by filling mounting holes with bondo and placing the badging in a slightly different location.
Not that this matters, I bought the truck as a work truck for apartment maintenance. I don't mind that it isn't stock anymore (350/350) but I do appreciate all things vintage, and am curious to know how these trucks originally rolled off the assembly line. I purchased the revised "How to restore your Chevrolet pickup" for a guide to bring my truck to a nice dependable daily driver status. The book is OK, but NUMEROUS typo errors are very annoying. It appears that a lot of "cut and paste" was performed on the new edition from the last. Other than than that, it's fine and I am sure it will assist me in getting my truck up to snuff.
Good luck with your new project.

Im not following your numbers you listed for your rearend ID the number you need will be on the front leading edge of the passengers side of the rear axle housing, they should be cold stamped in letters around 1 inch in size, the two letters will tell you the rear end ratio, post those two letter and myself or someone with an assembly manual will look it up for you, dont get ill when looking thye are realy there, a wire brush on a cordless drill will make this task easy,if you go to the right end of the axle and look towards the chunk these numbers will be around the 1 o'clock position.

To my knowledge, there is not a C-15 designation for the '64-'66 Chevy trucks. The C-15 you are referencing from the title may have come from the VIN, which on a C-10 would be a conventional cab with either a SWB/LWB or a stepside or fleetside. The C-10 also designates 1/2 ton, whereas the C-20 is a 3/4 ton followed by C-30 for 1 ton, etc. The rear axle housing has a number stamped on the upper left side of the pumpkin. With a bit of elbow grease, a wire brush and some degreaser you will be able to locate this number. There are a number of serial number/VIN number guides for Chevy trucks available. Additionally, the '63 Factory Assembly Manual and the '66 Supplement will have all of the number references for your truck. You can also find the correct VIN and other important information about your truck on the plate on the driver's side kick panel, the driver's side upper door jamp, on the inside of the glove box door and on a tag behind the driver's side of the factory bench seat.

More than likely you have a 4.10 rear end.
