tach filter

    I have an orig. 66 pu tach,that I want to install,I have been advised to install a tach filter with the tach.Can anyone tell me where to find one.Im using an HEI dist. I also have a lot of 63thru66 pu parts to sell or trade. thanks , tom

    I have factory tachometers in my 1966 C-10 and 1966 K-10. I am not familiar with a tach filter. The two wires from the back of the tach are attached to the negative lead on the coil and the fuse panel. I have factory points ignitions on both trucks, so maybe that's the diffence.     Filters are usually recommended by after-market Tach vendors when using high output performance coils.
