anyone know how to change a master cyl on 54 belair I cant get the pin out for the clutch and brake arms
M/C Service '54 Be Air It's been many a year but IIRC , the pedal shaft is held in by a cotter pin inside the bell housing , lucky for you , the Master Cylinder comes off easily , no need to remove the pedal shaft unless the bushings are totally shot . Interestingly , just to day as I was running Errands in South Central Los Angeles I happened across a complete '53 Two Door Sedan , it might be a Bel Air , I have to go back and check .
Andre, this might help. http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/shop/1949_53/05brakes/5_01.HTM I can't resist showing off one of Chevy's finest vehicles! The "looker" in the first pic is my mother! She's about to turn 83! Ken
