I have a 1965 C20 body bolted on a 1978 c20 frame.I am currently running into problems with the lack of a wiring harness, has anyone out there upgraded a 65 Chevy with a V8? If so, what can I do to convert the wiring harness that the pack rats chewed up? My fuel system is non existent; I am contemplating building a fuel cell, but can only find room for about 18 gallons within the frame. If I go with the 78 tanks, it will have to be a saddle tank. Does anyone have any suggestions for my mess?

To straighten out the wiring, I'd suggest ripping it ALL out and starting from scratch with an 18 Circuit rewire kit. You will waste a lot of time trying to straighten out what's there now. Ripping out the old and installing the new should be about a two weekend job.

18 gal tanks are the norm for between the rails. There are poly kits that boast of high capacity, but they hang down below the differential exposed to road hazards. You might look at this for some ideas. http://www.geocities.com/vpersh/GasTankBelow.html
It's for the 60's truck frames, but they are pretty similar to what you have.

Thanks for the info, the webpage certainly gave me some direction. Do you know where the best place would be to find that wiring harness/kit?
    Thanks again!!!
