After repairing the front of the rear fenders with patch panels, the lower contour of the fender does not quite match the running board (Both sides). Have others opted to abandon the 3 bolts that pull the two together or will there be problems in the future if they are not used? They are not too bad but I am wondering if I am making more work out of it. I have seen some that use fender welt to mask the gaps. Any suggestions or comments or pictures?

    Thanks , John

I had the rubber under the blocks and took them out to lower the bed about an 1/8" this seemed to help and I have a pretty close fit now.

A:eek:re you talking up and down or the contour of the fender. You should mock it all up before you paint as you may need to sand to fit contour. Removing the rubber gasket will promote...a hell of a squeak going down the road...and running the risk of the block cracking and absorbing water through the end grain = Failure....
