patch panel for fender

does anyone know if there is such a thing as a patch panel for drivers side rear fender where the indent is for the spare tire. I have an old short box on my one ton and the area was cut out and a piece of metal was hammered out and brazed in place. the amount of bondo used cracked over time so I cut it out again. if there is no such thing, does anyone have a fender that cannot be repaired due to accident or rust that can cut out a piece and send it to me.

 

One idea

I have a hot rod builder friend who saves old marine type gas cans and cuts he rounded top corners out to make some nice coves in old flat firewalls. might this work as a metal cup in your fender? maybe some other type of metal container may have corners that fit better.

Maybe an old trailer fender of some sort?

found a replacement fender!

I was lucky to find a fender at the local wrecking yard that was a recent acquisition. lots of work to get it off but happy to have found one. I guess you just never know when you will get lucky
