Who makes a dual carb intake for a GMC 228?
If the 4 barrel makes me look silly, I would go with the dually
Infact I would prefer it. The dual carbs just looks tough.
Everybody has intakes for the chevy.
Where can I get a dual for the GMC 228?

    GMC dual intake

Tom Langdon may even have one. I sold one to him several years back, a Nicson, I believe.

If anyone has one I'd think it would be Dave Aos of Cedar Hill, Texas 972-291-4391. He brings a FRACTION of the ones he has to the Decatur, Texas swap meet each year (Feb. 24-27 2012).

somebody had said that 4 barrels were made for a V8 and to put one on a inliner would be foolish and make me look silly.

They also make you look ignorant because the L6's long intake runners cannot possibly deliver fuel equally from a large , centrally mounted 4BBL carby ~ if you want to go fast , use multiple carbys , one for each intake port (3) is the best but for ease of installation and tuning most go with two carbys.....

    Thanks for the input guys
Guy out in Arizona sells the 5 carb Howard, were you can run 2-3 or 5 carbs.
    How cool is that?
Anything would be a huge improvement from what she was

    Remember :

More than one carby per intake port is time , $ & effort wasted .

The exception to this is the Chrysler slant 6. It was offered with a Hyper Pack which used a Carter AFB 4bbl for carburetion and along with other factory goodies ran like a scalded dog. The intake manifold was what Chevy and Ford inliners could only dream about.

    GMV 228 intake

    Hi ctzr1,

if you find a good place, for your intake needs, could you please let us know, where to go and get one?

As my intake is pretty rough, i might as well go for the dual carby option, instead off finding a used one. I fixed it with cold metal for now, but i don´t like
    this kind of repair.:(

    TIA

I sent you a PM blue flame with the link.
But for everybody else I got the idea from inliners.org in the tech section under full flow oil filter. Its there for GMC and Chevy.cause as you know they are different.
although these engines lasted a good long time with a bypass filter system of filtering what, 20% of the oil. I thought how long would it last on a full flow.
Then you can buy a bypass filter head and a fram filter.
I just have to mount mine yet.
I was probably going to weld a bracket to my Alternator bracket when I get it and mount it there.

When I find one I'll let you know.
But what I am finding out is that if you go with the Fenton Exhaust Headers you'll need to go with a Fenton Intake because the flange thickness is different from say the Offenhauser.
I am sure you could probably rig and grind to make em match up but I did not want to have to do that. Fenton makes a 4 barrel intake why don't they make a duce or a tri?

    As a fellow 228er, I'm loving what I'm seeing!

I, too, have drooled over the idea of dual carbs on my 228. I asked a fellow who sells stuff on this site about intakes, but never got boo back, so...
I would imagine that Patrick's has what it takes since he rebuilds these. Good luck!

Hey Charles, is that for a 228? You can find stuff for Chevy engines all day long, but GMC stuff, not so much...

    Great picture, though!
