    '41 truck or car?

Either/or, they are great looking vehicles! However, Chevy had them beat hands down in looks, both in the pickup line and car line! Just my opinion and I could be wrong!:D

    Russ,
Have done several 40 and 41 Ford pickups; let me know what questions you may have. Almost identical trucks except the flathead six was offered in 41 so the tailgate just has "FORD" on it instead of "V8" as on the 40. Dash plate and hood side emblems also just have FORD. If it needs fenders the 39 Deluxe and 40 Standard car fenders will NOT interchange even though the grill will. Engine has just the letter "A" on each head and is the 3 1/16" bore 85 horse unit. Brakes are iffy and need updated with mid-fifties pickup parts. Typical straight axle issues with much better than Chevy cross steering link rather than short drag link and much worse than Chevy springs with the Ford having "buggy" springs front and rear. Houdaille shocks are very exspensive to replace or rebuild. Of course I'm carrying on like it's a resto when you may be going street rod. Have used Chevy, Olds, Buick, Chrysler, Studebaker, AMC, Pontiac, and Cadillac in other brand V8's and Y-Block, FE, SBF, 429/460, 430 Edsel in the Ford family. Since they came with an engine compartment designed for a V8 almost anything will swap in. Have great looks but when Chevy started the all metal, no wood 37 second series (low cab) then the Chevy always seemed a bit more solid to me and would definitely stay warmer in the cab in the winter.

Russ, that is a sweet car! If your customer decides that he does not need or want the front license plate bracket, let me know, as I'd love to buy it from you. My '34 PU has '41 Super deluxe bumpers on it and I'd love to have the original hardware!

The owner's grandfather bought it new. Resto in mid 80s. It has a few small rust spots, but more will probably show up during stripping. The plans are to update to make a daily driver, but looking mostly stock. I am putting together plans from mild....warm up and dress up the flathead, disc brakes, overdrive, a/c, new rear end, to wild....Roadster shop chassis, F**D Coyote crate engine/EFI, Transmission, etc....It is up to the owner to decide what he wants to do.

    Imagine........

If Henry hadn't been such a crank ~

Those beautiful old Brand "f"s , with a proper , InLine Valve In Head engine , consider a '38 Coupe with a 235........

    Sigh .

    Oops,
Didn't realize it was a car and with dial up I seldom wait for pictures to download. Great job on the pickup. I do have a 41 Super Deluxe tudor that is pretty much complete except for engine/trans and I robbed the trim off it to put on my 46 coupe. Like the thin ribbed 41 trim much better. I have done several of these so maybe there are still a few surviving brain cells with a little bit of memory left. The 41 was pretty much an orphan year model, with some of the 37-40 features some of the 42-48. A full dress flathead has a huge WOW factor at shows but is very expensive. The Ford crate engines (or Chrysler) can't touch the GM crate engines for ease of wiring up after they are installed. The Detail Zone has a stand alone system for the 4.6/5.4 Modular engine and probably the Coyote now or soon. We usually pull all the sensors, modules, relays, etc from a donor and have the computer re-flashed to get rid of everything that isn't needed to make it run. The 41 parts car has some fairly good sheet metal with dents but not rust and the chassis is complete. It doesn't look like your's needs much along this line but let me know. What do you think of the 46 with the less that half as wide 41 trim?
