RE: 66 body on 73 3/4 ton 4x4 frame Just compare width and length measurments of the two frames. I think it is just a matter of drilling holes.
RE: 66 body on 73 3/4 ton 4x4 frame drabo. thanks for the info. i have the 73 down to frame and running gear. I also just finished installing a 4" lift kit and I am almost ready to remove 66 body from its frame and take my measurements,I was told that my 66 cab is 3" shorter then the 73 cab which will probibly affect my cab mounts.
RE: 66 body on 73 3/4 ton 4x4 frame Before you bolt the cab down make sure your have the motor and tranny in place. That will ensure you don't have any clearance issues.
RE: 66 body on 73 3/4 ton 4x4 frame Drabo, thanks for responding so soon. I am going to leave the 73 running gear in place for now. It consists of a 350 V8, 350 turbo tranny bolted to a 205 transfer case, dana 60 rearend and dana 40 frontend with warn hubs. I am going to use my four core radiator that is currently in my 66 now so that all the front clip will stay the same. I will add a tranny cooler in front of the radiator so hopefully engine and tranny will both stay cool. I am going to run the new Toyo 35" x 12.50 mudders so I hope there will be enough clearence in the fender wells. Thanks again.}>
RE: 66 body on 73 3/4 ton 4x4 frame I was told that I should cut three inches out of the 73 frame behind the cab and glove it back togeather so that the fender wells of the 66 will look centered above my tires. Any comments?
I would like to sell my original motor off the 66 frame as I no longer need it. It is a 292 that has been bored 30 over with a complete rebuild about seven years ago. It is a very strong motor and I would like to get $350.00 for it.P.S. My truck looks great and runs great too!
