Hey, i'm a rookie but love to learn, yea? I have a 216 motor sitting on blocks and need to remove the bellhousing to replace a bad clutch plate. What bolts need to removed? do i need any tool? This is probally very easy for many of you...so thanks for your help!!

you will need a clutch plate alignment tool. would suggest replacing the entire clutch assembly (plate, pressure plate, throw out bearing). sometimes the alignment tool comes with an entire assy, but even if you have to buy it seperatly, they are inexpensive.

    Bolt Removal Location

Probably got it off by now looking at the date of the post but If I recall the trans comes off first. two bolts at top of tranny and two underneath and up in the bellhousing, you have to remove the flywheel shield to see them while you stand on your head:D With the tranny off the bellhousing is just unbolted from the flange bolts assuming you have already removed the starter.

    Good luck
