    Russ, received my latches today. Looks like a fun job. Thanks again. We have snow on the ground and salt on the roads now so I will lots of time to install them. I'm going to check over your thread on these before I start!

    Shouldn't take long, about 2 hrs per door the first time. Make shure your doors are lined up before you begin.

    The new grille for the 41 came in today from Alumicraft Street Rod Grilles came in today.

    The 53 came back, the carb flooded the engine and washed the rings, had to pull it and send it back for new rings and bearings.

    Dammit.

    I don't understand how flooding caused bad rings & bearings.....

    They were new and hadn't seated yet, the oil was full of gas.

    Sounds more like a bad fuel pump diaphragm to me .

    If the rings were new , why not just clean it up and re bed them in properly in 60 seconds ? .

    I let the man who rebuilt it take care of it. It would only run if you squirt oil into the cylinders but died when the oil burned off.
