I just bought a 1960 apache. It is missing the tunnel cover over the transmission. I am changing the 3 speed to the floor and can not find the cover. Please help!! Thanks
I have a junkyard about 30 miles away (Providence, AR) that has lots of 60-66 Chev/GMC trucks...maybe 20 or so...not a one had the high-hump. I was thinking about your inquiry while looking for other parts. Since my cab is off and on a cart, I trimmed the trans tunnel where it meets the firewall and picked up an inch or so more clearance. You may have to modify your tunnel yourself.
Rich or Tony can hook you up: Rich: http://www.stovebolt.com/RJ/ Tony: http://4-5-6chevytrucks.com/ Good Luck To Ya
These are 64 to `66....not sure if the 60 is the same...they used the high hump for two transmissions, the SM 465 truck four speed with granny low first gear and the four speed Hydramatic ( early version was very large side case ) newer late model three speed / four speed and automatics will not need the high hump...if that helps...
