Great job on the truck! I just got a set of latches from Russ and installed them in my 53 it is unbelievable how nice they work. The doors shut as nice as my 06 . You will be very pleased with them.

Yeah, That never occurred to me 'till today, for some reason. I think I can order just one from where I got the others.

Thanks for the info. I picked up a parts truck that was a short bed with the side mounted spare except the bracket was missing. I picked up a bracket off a long bed too. I better go check it out. I haven't mounted the bed yet.

    Did you make it back?

    Bill:
How went the trip to Corpus? Ken and I were just wondering.

If you made it back OK maybe you and I could park our GMCs in front of Ken's house and make fun of his garage queens.

Still in Corpus area. Made the trip just fine. Went to the local drive in, Snapka's Friday. Met some friends, including Kathy Snapka, from high school. Had a great time. Coming home tomorrow. Happy Thanksgiving to all. Sounds like you got your truck going! Good news.

Back home today. Took Clarabelle for her first road trip, 640 miles. All went well. Had an oil pressure gauge failure. Installed temporary "mechanical" gauge in interim. Pictures included: first is Wife, Myself, Cindy and Toby Payne, High School friends. Second, Cindy, My Sister Dixie, and Kathy Snapka. Next, Kathy Snapka, (at Snapka's Drive In). Me and My Father In Law Ed Kelley (83). Last, and certainly not least, are My Wife Susan, Her Mom Georgie, and Dad Ed Kelley.

Bilbo, I seen someone ask about the Dexstar part number on these wheels and I didnt see an answer. Could the part number on your wheels be AM20758? At least thats the number that etrailer.com has on them...

    017-235-xx 16x6K 6-5.5 3.65 1/2? - 20 60* 0 3050 @ 90 psi
This is the part number I used, where the xx equals wheel color, (25 is e-coat Grey). Hope this helps. Sorry, I must have overlooked the question...

I've made a couple of updates.

I've healed enough to work in the shop a few days before having my knee 'scoped' on July 31st. I've built and installed sideboards on Clarabelle! Bill Hanlon, I also bought a trim ring for the spare... I have a couple I'll sell now, too ;o)
